Case studies
Impact damage and Insurance repair
Much of the work that we undertake is in this field, and we have in house skills to manage these larger projects to conclusion. This Bavaria 39 hit a rock off the coats of France and caused significant damage to the hull and internal fit out. Total removal of the keel and interior were required with a view to their re-instatement without any signs of work having taken place.
Stress related repairs
This keel was quite unique in its make up. With a lower moulded stub upon which the ballast keel was mounted, the strength at the turn of the bilge and at the joint was inadequate. This necessitated the removal of the previous and failed laminate and its replacement with new on a like with like basis, but without any plans, drawings or lay-up specifications to hand.
