Cornish Maritime History Conference 2015

The line-up of speakers and topics confirms the continued enthusiasm for Cornish maritime history. The speakers cover the ages from fifteenth to the early twentieth centuries and include:

  • Sam Drake Fowey during the Hundred Years’ War
  • Jeremy Rowett Johns Privateering in Polperro
  • Terry Chapman The maritime links of a 19th century trade unionist
  • Roger Burt Freemasonry and mariners
  • Steph Haxton Early 19th century navigation lessons
  • Alex Lewis A year in the life of a Cornish port
  • John Forsyth A Fowey topsail schooner in the early twentieth century
  • Anne Pond Coast Lines Company in the interwar years

Early booking is recommended as this event is always very popular and places are limited.
Cost: Adults £30, Museum Ticket holders £25, Student concessions on application.
Includes all refreshments, lunch and admission to the Museum and Library.
