Welcome aboard Lamorna!

Mylor Yacht Harbour welcomes 12m John Moore commercial fishing vessel, Lamorna for a full deck replacement.

Operating out of Newlyn, by third generation fisherman Andrew and James Pascoe, she can normally be found fishing for mixed white fish and shellfish on the west Cornwall coast. For now though she is tucked up in one of Mylor’s workshops having her old decks removed and replaced with new.
The vessel was built in in the John Moore’s boatyard in Mevagissey in 1986 and has been owned and operated by the Pascoe brother’s since 2001.

“There are no facilities in Newlyn like this so to discover Mylor has the capabilities to lift, move and house Lamorna while the work is completed is a real eye opener. The deck is being replaced due to 34 years of work and wear – 34 years is a good life for a deck!” says James Pascoe.

Mylor also welcomes a new Shipwright to our team, Giles, who also joins us from Newlyn. Giles will be heading up the project of removing and replacing Lamorna’s deck.
