The Falmouth Oyster Festival is a celebration of the start of the Oyster dredging season in Cornwall which runs from October to March traditionally.
Now over 20 years old, Falmouth Oyster Festival has grown into a four-day indulgence for the senses. Cooking masterclasses on a stage are offset by Cornish bands and other live musicians providing great sounds as well as craft and food stalls.
Chefs such as Rick Stein, Antonio Carluccio, Hugh Fearnley-Wittingstall and Clarisa Dickson Wright have all attended in the past. The festival is a great place to gauge the latest culinary talent in the county including Cornish Michelin-starred chefs and their restaurants. In addition to this the festival puts the traditional Falmouth working boats – fishing under sail, that land fish at Mylor Yacht Harbour – into context.
Having outgrown Events Square, this year the festival can be found at The Waterfront location of Church Street.
