Specialist facilities and a dedicated, experienced team

Painting & Coppercoat

There’s nothing we find quite as satisfying as watching a boat leave our finishing shop. Varnish glinting, glossy paintwork gleaming….modesty should forbid but, well, there are few who do it better. That’s not just us saying that, either – one of our paint manufacturers reckons we are the best in the world at using their products.

A Centre of Excellence

We are certainly a recognised regional ‘Centre of Excellence’ for painting, which is a tribute to the long-practised skills of all of the Mylor Marine Team craftspeople involved with preparing surfaces and finishing them; laminators, shipwrights and, of course, the painters themselves.

Whether using brush or spray-gun, whether working on wood, GRP or metal boats, they make achieving the finest finish look deceptively easy – but it’s an ease born of decades of experience, careful preparation and attention to detail.

Extensive experience and first-class facilities

The sea is an unforgiving environment and their craftsmanship is backed by the appliance of science; we use the most technically-advanced paint systems and varnishes in combinations of coatings to produce long-lasting and high performance finishes.

They are applied in first-class facilities with separate preparation and finishing sheds and a purpose-built spray booth.

The result? A finish that is not only pretty, but very clever too. Speak to the team to find out more and discuss your project.

Coppercoat

Most boat owners are familiar with the winter ritual of antifouling – an important task but one few people looked forward to as it can be messy and time-consuming.

In addition to the antifoul service we offer here at Mylor, there is also the option to coppercoat your boat. Our experienced team can carefully apply this incredibly durable and long-lasting antifoul, which can provide a high level of protection for around 10 years.

This hard-wearing, densely copper-filled resin is used to protect boats throughout the season around the world. Get in touch if you would like to find out more or book your boat in for treatment.
