Falmouth Week is a major attraction for locals and visitors alike. Originally this event started as a local sailing regatta dating back to 1837 and has since evolved in to one of south west’s major sailing competitions. It’s also an opportunity for sailors and landlubbers to enjoy the many daytime and evening attractions in the town.
Falmouth Week is special as it incorporates shore side events that include a carnival, live music – this year with an 80’s and 90’s extravaganza to include Jason Donovan. There’s also food festivals and a spectacular live Red Arrow’s display with the popular regatta which involves all 6 local sailing clubs.
The beautiful waters of Falmouth Bay and the Carrick Roads are perfect sailing waters. This is where Olympic champion and America Cup hero Ben Ainslie first learnt to sail and where numerous national sailing championships are held.
