Falmouth Week is special as it incorporates shore side events that include a carnival, live music, food festivals and a spectacular live Red Arrow’s display with the popular regatta which involves all 6 local sailing clubs.
Falmouth Week has grown into one of the largest sailing regatta’s in the south west with keelboats, multihulls and traditional yachts racing over seven days of competition which starts on Sunday 10th until Saturday 16th August. The main regatta is a series of races over seven days, with courses laid in Falmouth Bay and the Carrick Roads by qualified Race Officers. All classes of boat – expert or beginner – are catered for.
The beautiful waters of Falmouth Bay and the Carrick Roads are perfect sailing waters. This is where Olympic champion and America Cup hero Ben Ainslie first learnt to sail and where numerous national sailing championships are held.
The regatta commences at the Helford River SC on Sunday and finishes at Flushing SC on the following Saturday. After the days prize giving at Flushing a ferry, very kindly sponsored by Cornwall Ferries Ltd will take competitors from Flushing SC to the Event Square for the main prize giving.
