Wednesday, 18 November, 2015 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

The warm glow of festive lights kicks off the Christmas spirit in Truro and this year the theme is ‘The Museum of Lost Stories’ inspired by the Cornish Archives Truro City of Light Route 2015and County Records Office.
The event includes the official switch on of Truro’s Christmas lights, plus music and dance from Truro School of Samba and other local bands.

The hugely anticipated Truro City of Lights festival and parade lights up the city in in spectacular fashion delighting the crowds who gather to see the display. The festival is a vividly creative celebration incorporating art, music, dance and, as its name suggests, light and features a dazzling procession of giant handmade withy and tissue lanterns floating through the streets. The giant lanterns are carried by professional artists accompanied by a host of smaller lanterns carried by Cornish school children and local community and youth groups.

The procession starts at Truro High School for Girls and will make its way down Lemon Street, along Boscawen Street, into Victoria Square along Kenwyn Street, Little Castle Street, looping round to River Street back along Boscawen Street onto Princess Street finishing on Truro’s Lemon Quay.
