Marine Electrics

Electrical and Electronic work can be the most testing of all marine industry trades. Every individual leisure and small commercial craft is wired and equipped differently – making diagnosis, repair and installation interesting propositions, to say the least.

Luckily, the Mylor Marine Team electricians passionately love a challenge. And we have the wide experience and long-honed skills to deal with any you care to float to us.

If it involves electric power on a boat, you ask for it….circuit checks, diagnostics, re-wiring, replacing battery chargers and inverters, installing bow thrusters, refrigeration, VHF, satellite phones, nav equipment, televisions, whole boat control and monitoring systems….and we’ll say ‘yes’.  And get you back underway quickly, efficiently – and above all, safely.

No matter how simple or complex, we’ll talk through your requirements and make sure you get the right equipment to meet them. We use only the best and most cost-effective components for the task, and fit all and any manufacturers’ products.

We know our stuff – not only do we hold all relevant UK competency certifications, our chief electrician is one of only three in the country to have earned the International gold standard US marine electricians’ qualification.

Part of the joy of this job is that we keep on learning. The pace of marine electronics development has accelerated massively over the past five years; not only are we abreast of the changes, we are helping to drive technology forward with our pioneering work on hybrid propulsion management systems.

Even better, our electricians are part of an integrated Marine Team, working closely with our engineers, shipwrights and laminators to ensure every project proceeds seamlessly.
